We took advantage of the weather this morning {no rain} and went to the Missouri Botanical Garden!
We haven't been since the fall and wanted to enjoy the Spring blossoms & flowers.  It was gorgeous as always!

 We realized today that in all the years we've been going there, we never toured Henry Shaw's Tower Grove House.   Really enjoyed the history there . . . {you know I love old stuff}

We can't wait to go back next month for the TREEMENDOUS Extreme Treehouse Exhibit!

Well, I'm meant to take photos of our Easter feast, our Easter company but I didn't . . . I did get my computer fixed, my printer working & my Eye Fi working again!  Yay!  Adam! He is amazing,  grilled chicken wings while figuring out why my wireless printer and Eye Fi didn't work with my new router.

No . . . it's not a weather photo.  I was pretty tired of snow & winter but at this point I'd like to say goodbye to rain & tornadoes!  Today's photo is of my soldier son, talked to him for a few seconds on Facebook yesterday.   They have had their share of bad weather at his location so here is a small sample of what it's been like there . . .

Happy Easter!

This is a Store Sample created from Teresa Collins Notations kit.  The kit which includes the album is available @ For Keeps Sake for only $20 and I had a blast using all the die cut, tags, labels and other bits to make a graduation themed album called DREAM BIG!

This is a pic of the cover.   It's personalized for a special 2011 Grad!  It's on display @ For Keeps Sake!

St. Louis weather never fails to live up to it's reputation . . . yesterday @ this exact time it was 88 degrees and what I'm sure was 100% humidty.   We had some pretty violent winds and tornadoes spotted in several areas but happily no damage here!  Today on the other hand is a gorgeous Spring day and the temperature is only about 56.  What a difference a day makes!

After a morning spent at the dentist (I'd rather not talk about it) we decided to take a walk on the trail @ Jefferson Barracks..

We go over there pretty often to walk and enjoy the scenery a lot.

If you haven't been outside today, get out there because I'm sure the weather will be different tomorrow!

Soooo, it's been awhile since I gave you a restaurant review!
This is a new "Chinese Restaurant" in St. Charles called

I personally am not a huge buffet fan in general but my guys
 love a good food fest so I agreed to try it out with them!
Wow!  This is probably the best buffet I've ever been to.
It's a brand new restuarant so the place itself was beautifully decorated
and HUGE.
For only 9.59 each you could have Sushi, seafood & Hibachi cooked food in addition to
any kind of food you could think of in a Chinese restaurant including a nice salad bar,
ice cream bar, dessert bar.
It's a bit overwhelming because there is so much to choose from
but I would go again for sure!

Photo of the day . . .

We're still having a few issues over here . . . too many wireless devices & I haven't quite figured out how to get them back online.  I'm hoping my tech support will be able to stop in next week!

Today's photo was taken by my son.  Recently he was called into work early in the day {on his day off}.  These days it's hard not to worry that some bad news was about to be delivered!  He didn't need to worry though, it was all good news!

Congratulations Adam! {now can you fix my computer?}

Photo of the day and I'm baaack!

Computer troubles have kept me out of business for a few days but I think we finally have this thing figured out!  Isn't it wierd how a few days without internet can make you crazy?  The main thing is we fixed it all without calling in the experts (Adam tried coaching us over the phone)!  Whether or not it will stay fixed I'm not sure . . .

Anyway, before the storms blew away my pretty blossoms I took this photo of the tree in my front yard.

It's an ornamental Peach tree and is always the prettiest tree in the neighborhood in the Spring!

Today's photo is my fav from our little road trip to Lake of the Ozarks!  Sure there was a boat ride on the Lake.  An awesome hotel room.  Wonderful dinner.  Sunset was beautiful too.  Here is my favorite though!

Photo of the day

but first a poem . . .

I Am A Soldier’s Mother

Thank you Cynthia Gibbs for writing this heartfelt poem.

I am a soldier’s mother; I sometimes march alone
And yet I stand with many, trying to be strong.

You may not recognize me as you pass me on the street;
I may look like any other that you by chance might meet.

Like any mother, in a lot of ways I still remain,
But watching my son become a soldier brought a forever change.

For deep down inside where you cannot see
My own battle rages that’s as real as it can be.

It starts with feeling pride in all he has become,
But often worry creeps in before the day is done.

Then there is his absence that never will seem right -
The days without a word that causes many sleepless nights.

And at the sight of another soldier, my heart skips a beat,
For it reminds me of my own, and that face I’d love to see.

And I have a deeper sense of the sacrifices our heroes make;
I can see the hardships on the families – the loneliness, the heartache.

But in spite of all that’s raging, this mother’s love holds strong
As I’m wrapped in God’s peace and comfort and given strength to go on.

Another package going postal to soldier son . . .
He only wants healthy snacks but I just had to include the
Peeps (used to be his favorite).

Love you son.  Stay safe.

I can't say what it is because it would spoil the surprise.

It's turning out pretty cute if I do say so myself!

Photo of the day

A few years ago . . . okay really more than a few. . . back in 1980 something I happened to be Christmas Shopping @ Famous & Barr.  I found this display of  "Topo Chocolate".  Topo referring to a Topographical Map-made out of chocolate.  This particular chocolate bar had a map of the exact area where my {cartographer} map guy husband works.  In fact it shows the Brewery and right across the street is the Aerospace Center.
Okay stay with me here . . . this seemed like a great little stocking stuffer for map guy.  So I bought and he loved it and then he took it to work to show the guys.  Soooo, the other day he cleaned his desk and brought this home . . . Really?  This thing is over 25 years old for gosh sakes.

Kind of makes you wonder what the chocolate is made out of, doesn't it?

Lunch with my #1 Son today.

Since he lives in St. Charles and works in Olivette

we met up @ GC Brewery.
