3/25/2012

We really don't have many places within walking distance here in the burbs.  We walk to Walgreens, Handyman, the Bread Company sometimes.  Otherwise we have to travel to go to a cute little coffee/bakery.
Last year we noticed a sign go up in the little strip shopping center behind Oberweis, a couple of doors down from where For Keep Sake used to be.  Ex Cop Donut Shop.  We couldn't wait for the "On Duty" sign to finally go on.

It's finally OPEN for business and we walked up for our breakfast this morning.  The coffee was great, the variety of donuts and Italian bakery items was amazing and the place was hopping.  I got a Nutella Glazed Donut and Tom got the Sweet Applewood Bacon Maple Long John.  Both amazing, can't wait to try the Italian pastries or maybe the made to order Belgian Waffles.  You have to go check them out . . . and I seriously need to stay away (LOL).

3-24-2012

I totally forgot to share this from my class the other night.  One of my sweet ladies in my class also happens to be the owner of Merbs Candies,  Terry brought the class 2 boxes of Chocolate Caramel Marshmallow Eggs.  Handmade that day with homemade from scratch marshmallow.   What an amazing treat.

Kaisercraft Tray Frame Class
Date:  TBA

In the class we will decorate an unfinished wood frame.   The frame measures 10x10 and is a great size to highlight a 4x6 photo.  Mother's Day is right around the corner and this will make a great personalized gift.

Photo of the day 3/15

Spring has arrived early here in the Lou.  I can hardly believe how green the grass is and the trees are in full bloom.  I've been busy working on different projects and haven't kept up on posting my photo of the day but I do take photos every day.   Really I do.

Here is today's pic:

Another fab recipe found via pinterest.

Cranberry Avocado Salad

Easy recipe for homemade basalmic dressing and candied almonds.  Better than Bread Co.  I swear.  Try it!

Happy 1st Day of March . . .

It was too perfect a day not to play outside.
Hubby played hooky and we went to Castlewood State Park.
