Photo of the day for 2/08/2011

Today's photo . . . well it's been "one of those days".  So instead of sharing the boring details I'll share a card instead.  I'm busy kitting my class for tomorrow but I needed to make a "Sympathy" card for a friend.  It's made with Basic Grey Curio (one of my fav all time paper lines).  Night everyone.  Tomorrow is another day!

Today's photo . . .2/6/11

Saying Goodbye again:

A little bit of a gray and depressing day.  I didn't cry until after the picture, he started to tear up so I had to hold it together a little longer!

We got a few extra hours with him today...1st flight was canceled.  He was a little nervous about making his connecting flight out of Atlanta.  No worries though, he just called and he missed his flight overseas and will be in Atlanta for 2 days.  He's happy but I kinda wish he could have stayed here!

Photo of the Day for 2/5

I didn't get a photo yesterday . . . a lot going on and I just didn't do it.   Today's photos are weather related {of course}.   The weatherman predicted a dusting and of course we got 4-5inches.  I really am tired of this white stuff but it did make some pretty scenery this a.m.

I have one more photo to share . . . tomorrow we say goodbye to soldier son again.  I hate this, 15 days came and went in a heartbeat and now he's going back, over there . . . we will miss him so much!

Photo of the day . . .2/3/2011

Sorry, I cannot resist.  He has moved into a tree in our backyard and he's there just about everyday.   In fact when I get up in the morning I grab my coffee then check for my owl.   I decided I needed to find out whoooo he was, you know what kind of owl and found out He is a Barred Owl or a Hoot Owl.  That's perfect.  A hoot owl.   So far he's been quiet, no hooting but of course he's nocturnal and I am not.  Anywho, enjoy today's Owl Portrait and if you are a fan of owls, check out "a hoot a day".

Today's photo for 1/31/11

Well the storm of significant proportions is upon us {I guess, that's what they keep saying anyway}.  It's entirely possible that tomorrow will be a snow day.  That's fine with me, I have a lot of projects I want to finish up on this week.  It's RAK time again for my PAWS group and that's my photo of the day.  Here's a sneak peek of my little RAK going postal this week:

Watch your mailboxes girls, it may just be coming your way!

Photo of the day for 1/30/11

Today I was supposed to work but my good friend Missy volunteered to take my hours this afternoon so that I could spend the afternoon with my boys.  Thanks so much Missy!   We had a nice family dinner and we watched photos and videos that he brought back with him.  A great afternoon!

I get one more week with my boy until he goes back to Iraq.

Yesterday's photo . . . 1/29

I'm working on a new Baby Memories Class, not finished but I think it's pretty cute, here is a little peek:

I've decided to go ahead and get this one on the calendar in February if I can get a date.  I'm thinking 2/24.  If you would like a girlie option, let me know and I'll work up a kit for you.

Photo of the day 1/28/2011

I took a few photos with my camera today but I had to charge my battery so today's photo taken with my phone {again}.  I just love the Retro Cam app maybe because I'm a little Retro myself, I don't know.  This photo is of my new book:  "Scraps" an inspirational field guide to collage by Elsebeth Gynther & Christine Clemmenson. I loved the cover so much I just had to buy it . . .

Photo of the Day

Soldier son is the subject of my photos this weekend.  I can't stop looking at him, touching his arm, hugging him.  I don't even want to think of him leaving again.  It's just funny that having him here is kind of like he's never left.  Lights left on, clothes on the floor, wet towel on the bathroom floor.  He is always hungry, so I took him grocery shopping.  Feels good to just be his Mom . . .

His little dog sticks to him like glue too.

Poor guy, he was excited for Dad's birthday dinner . . . Steak, baked potatoes & deviled eggs (his favorites), he fell asleep just before it was finished and I couldn't wake him up.  I guess those 4 different time zones finally caught up to him tonight . . .

Photo of Yesterday . . .

I didn't post my photo of the day yesterday.  The day just wasn't what I expected.   I took plenty of photos, it was my sweetie's birthday, we both had the day off coincidentally and the plan was to have a nice late lunch at Houlihans and go to the movies.

We did and it was fun.   About as much fun as you can have on freakish cold day in January on a Friday afternoon.   I should say this before I tell you how the day ended though, it's been one of those weeks, the phone calls from soldier son have been short and few lately.  He tells me he's super busy on missions, very tired and just didn't sound right to me.  Plus he unfriended me on Facebook.  Wow did not see that coming.  Anyway, I've had the "winter I miss my boy blues all week long". Which brings me to this photo, which I didn't take, the boys, all 3 of them have been planning this surprise for weeks.

He wasn't supposed to get his R&R until March and 8 last night the boys rang the door bell and there he was in his ACU's that he put on Tuesday in Iraq.   I can't believe they pulled this off without me finding out!  {PS he unfriended me so he could tell everyone else that he was coming home!}

Photo of the Day!

Today's photo. . . it snowed again . . .really. . . I'm over it.  I like a little white stuff as much as the next person but we just didn't need another 6 inches around here, oh and the 2 degree lows we're having tonight are completely unnecessary.

Just in case you are as bored as I am of this particular view, here's a Boston Cream Pie I made today for my honey's birthday tomorrow!  It's not the prettiest cake I've ever made but still looks good.

In the words of Rachael Ray "YUMMO".
