THANK YOU to EVERYONE that attended PRESERVING the PAST last week!  It was great seeing EVERYONE for CLASS after the long HOLIDAY break.

 We LOVED the BRAND NEW classroom at CHECKERED COTTAGE too!  It was BRIGHT and SPACIOUS and CLIMATE CONTROLLED!  Here is EVERYONE hard at work!

This weekend is FOR KEEP SAKE EVENTS' Girlfriends GETAWAY!  I will be teaching a SPECIALLY DESIGNED 2 page layout and it is OPEN to EVERYONE.

Class Description:

Each month in Preserving the Past we will create a 2 page layout perfect for your Heritage Album.    This month’s class features paper  from Basic Grey, Authentique and more.   

We will be learning a paper piecing technique using paper scraps and an embossing folder to embellish this layout.  

Supply List:

Please bring scissors, adhesive, pop dots and ink blending tool.  I used Wendy Vecchi’s Watering Can Ink from Ranger but you could substitute your favorite grey toned ink such as Tim Holtz’ Pumice Stone.

Cost:  $20 per student

Happy New Year!

Well.... long time no blog!  It's been a CRAZY couple of months in my world.  Many CHANGES, lots of DISTRACTIONS and the HOLIDAYS, but now I'm ready to start this NEW YEAR!  

2015 

will be 

FILLED

with MANY 

new

ADVENTURES 

for our

 FAMILY.

My HUSBAND RETIRED after more than 33 years of service with the federal government National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency.  

Both sons A-Z, (ADAM & ZACK) are planning WEDDINGS in 2015.  We are so excited to WELCOME 2 daughters, Staci and Hannah join our FAMILY and  I LOVE them both already! 

And if RETIREMENT & WEDDINGS weren't enough for 1 year, TOM and I have made an exciting decision to move back to NORTH CAROLINA.   We have always DREAMED of LIVING in the BLUE RIDGE MOUNTAINS and have decided to make our DREAMS happen this YEAR.  

Though it will be hard to move away from Adam, Staci and all of our FRIENDS, this move will put us CLOSER to our extended FAMILIES. 



For NOW, I'm really looking forward to TEACHING classes at my new home at "Checkered Cottage" in Kirkwood.  The 1st class of the YEAR is January 14.  Details below, call Checkered Cottage for your RESERVATION.

Supply List:

In addition to Basic Supplies please bring a craft mat, ink blending tool and brown ink (I used Ranger Wendy Vecchi Ink Potting Soil).  Pop dots or foam tape.

Preserving the Past...

Our 1st class at our new location at the adorable CHECKERED COTTAGE in Kirkwood, MO last night was a great success.  We had a full class with friends old & new.  Thank you to all that attended!  I can't wait to do it again!

Thanks to everyone that attending my class last night!  Our last Preserving the Past at For Keeps Sake was a little bittersweet but I know everyone will enjoy our new location at the   Checkered Cottage in Kirkwood, MO.   I dropped off  my sample today and Robyn was excited to report that several students had already signed up so we are on our way!   Again, thanks so much to each and every one of you!

A NEW Class at a NEW Place!

It's OFFICIAL!  My NOVEMBER Class is listed on the CHECKERED COTTAGE website.  You will see my class listed and will have the ability to sign up online (although I believe payment needs to be made in the store).

Preserving the Past for November
Wednesday, November 12 @ 6pm

Each month Preserving the Past we will create a 2 page layout perfect for your Heritage Album. This month's class features beautiful papers from Carta Bella "Moments and Memories" collection. This layout is great for old photos but can easily be used for current photos too. Come join our great group of ladies at our new location. 

In addition to your basic supplies you will need Black Ink for distressing (I used Tim Holtz Black Soot) and foam squares or pop dots.

Cost:  $20 per student

A Walk Down MEMORY LANE...and a New Road to Explore!

It seems like yesterday that we first stepped into the gigantic store on Lemay Ferry!  We thought we couldn't fill it up but Timi and Nancy N did fill up For Keeps Sake with all the latest and greatest supplies for our beloved hobby. 

 I have always been proud to work at this place which became a "Happy Place" for so many people that shared the same passion for creating.

Change is good though and just as I realized that I would no longer be able to teach my Preserving the Past class, a new opportunity has come my way!  

I'm am so excited to share that I have been invited to continue my class at The CHECKERED COTTAGE in adorable downtown Kirkwood, MO.     Details are being worked out but we will have a place for my class starting in November.  Stay tuned!

Upcoming Classes & A Story to Share...

Many of you have met my friends, Sue & Droopy Thompson.  They are frequent visitors to For Keeps Sake and they also volunteer at Beasley School in the Mehlville School District.  Droopy the service dog is almost 12 years old and the time has come for him to retire.

 Sue has an opportunity to receive a new service dog partner from the American Service Dog Association.  The cost of this new Partner is $6,000.00 and they already have $1,000.00 from a very generous supporter!
