I have a new scanner!!

I found a slide scanner that really works!! It's a Canon 8800 and I am so pleased with the scans! So many of my kiddos younger years are on transparencies, now I can scan and print these photos that are stashed away in slide trays!!

Scrap St. Louis

April 23-25, 2009

Scrap St. Louis 2009 begins with

dinner Thursday evening @ 6 pm

with a very special welcome by St. Louis' own

Mary Engelbreit.

(Psssttt . . . we will be launching ME's newest scrapbook line at Scrap St. Louis 2009)

Trunk show immediately follows dinner.

Visit our guest artists and see all they've created with their product lines.

Be sure to BYO camera!

Classes begin at 8 am on Friday with the following guest instructors:

Margie Romney-Aslett (Making Memories)

Linda Cain (Ten Seconds Studio & Maya Road)

and will resume on Saturday at 8 am.

We conclude our program at our Farewell Dinner on Saturday at 7 pm.

All this takes place at the Holiday Inn South County Center

located at I-255 and So. Lindbergh Blvd.

Scrap St Louis!

It was an inspiring, hectic, fun weekend, full of creativity and great times! The attendees were wonderful, the talented instructors from all over and all the gals that hosted the make n take tables were amazing!! My co workers, worked very hard leading up to this event, the owners Timi and Nancy, the managers Nancy and Aleeta did an outstanding job taking care of the attendees and the instructors and staff in spite of Friday's tornados and Saturday's A/c crisis! I enjoyed my assignment assisting Tracey from k and Company and was thrilled to be included! I
have my photos uploaded to my web album for you to check out, you should be able to order prints directly from the page!If anyone has photos to share, send them to me or upload them and I will try to put them together on a CD for anyone that is interested!

Thanks to my friend Missy for being Team Captain again this year! This is our 4th year for Carolina Sue's Crew and Missy always does a great job coordinating everything for us! This year will mark my 5th year Survivor anniversary, I can't believe it's been five years since I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer! Missy's Mom is also a survivor! It seems everyone has been touched by Breast Cancer in one way or another.

Please support the Komen Race with your donation, you don't even have to walk, just pay $25, get a free shirt and Missy even picks it up for you!! It will be waiting at FKS for you!

For Keeps Sake is at it again, look at this it's Truly Trendy on Scrap Scene!!

The Challenge: You’ve been seeing a lot of new trends popping up in the world of scrapbooking for 2008. We, at ScrapScene, have also been posting a lot about them recently. (You can see some links in the “Inspiration” section below.) For this contest, we are challenging you to create a scrapbooking or paper crafting project that reflects one or more of these trends. Some ideas you can select from are mentioned below, or perhaps there is another trend that we didn’t mention. You can make a scrapbook layout, a mini book, an altered item, or whatever else you decide. This contest is pretty wide open, so show us what you can do. The project does not have to be brand new, you can submit an entry that you have made earlier, no problem. Entries will be judged on overall appeal as well as creativity. One grand prize will be awarded as well as five runner up prizes. Let’s see what you can come up with!

I am so lucky! Though I wasn't able to take classes with them, Linda Cain and Wendy Vecchi came to For Keeps Sake this past weekend and amazed us with their wonderful ART! These women are Artists in every sense of the word and are just the nicest people you would ever want to meet! It was a great experience to share and I can't wait for them to come back!!
